It’s rare to find a home close to the activity of town that also has a great view. Casa Cantera is just such a place. Located in a lovely townhome on Gonzales, you’re just 3 blocks from Canyon Road with its many galleries, shops, and restaurants, and about a mile from the Plaza (walkable), the center of Santa Fe life. You’re also right at the base of the road to the ski area.
Beautiful sunset/mountain views can be seen from the living/dining area and the master bedroom. The outside portal spans the length of the home, providing unending opportunities for relaxing and kicking back while enjoying those wonderful mountain views.
The décor is high-end Santa Fe style throughout the home. The compound is relatively new (not historic), however, the style in every way is “ Santa Fe”. Saltillo tile floors run throughout the home in addition to viga ceilings, two kiva fireplaces, and Mexican tile in the kitchen and baths.
The living room looks onto the portal and beyond to views of the Jemez Mountains, lovely to look at in any season. Sunsets can be magnificent. Winter affords the opportunity to snuggle up by the wood-burning kiva fireplace and stay cozy.
The dining room easily seats six. Enjoy the open living plan…with dining next to living room and ability to see the views while dining.
The kitchen is compact, but provides all amenities for cooking, if desired. Above the kitchen sink is a pass-through to the dining room, opening up the space.
The king master suite looks over the back portal and further on to those beautiful mountain views. The master bath has twin sinks, tub with shower and a huge walk-in closet. The guest room has two twin beds and is next to a full hall bath (tub and shower).
If you need to work while in Santa Fe, you will find a perfect spot to set up your computer in a small office niche off the hall with desk, WIFI, and a skylight.
Because of our famous sunlight, Santa Fe is a great place to spend time outside. The portal at Casa Cantera has everything you need to enjoy the weather and the views. Not only is there an outside table and chairs for eating, but also a lounge area for sipping Margaritas in the afternoon or warming up around the outside kiva fireplace.
Amenities include WIFI, cable TV, air conditioning, full size washer/dryer, gas barbeque, single garage, and additional off-street parking for guests. A starter stack of firewood is provided for each guest. Casa Cantera is a smoke-free environment, indoors and out!
If you plan to ski or hike, you are just off the road leading directly to the national forest and ski area – -no need to make your way through town before beginning the 25 minute drive through national forest to Santa Fe’s wonderful 12,000-foot mountains.
